We report at 9:30am, does she look scared?

We got a call this morning from the NICU telling us all the "need to knows" for tomorrow. She can't eat past 4am and at her 4am feeding she is only allowed to have an ounce and a half of Pedialite. We're to report to the NICU at 9:30 where they'll start her IV's and get her ready for surgery. Once her IV's are started, Brett and I have to go down to the surgery floor to get her checked in.
We're hoping her docs in the NICU will be the ones who intubate her. Only because they're the only ones who have ever done this to her before and we feel more comfortable with that. Not that we think anyone else couldn't do it, we just know our comfort zone. She will be recovering in the NICU for sure. Hooray!!!! That is awesome news to us, we couldn't be happier about that. We were so uncomfortable with the thought of her having to go to a different hospital. Again, not because we don't trust anyone else, its just this hospital has been her home for the better part of her life, she knows them, they know her, we know them, they know us, its just better.
The surgery itself should only be a couple of hours. Once she's out, she'll probably stay on the ventilator for a day or so. The sooner she's off, the better, but her MO is to stay on as long as they'll let her!
Keep her in your prayers. I'll update you tomorrow night.

No, she doesn't look scared at all, she is a brave little girl!
But I bet her parents aren't as brave. I sure wouldn't be.

Good Luck with everything and we will be thinking about all of you and praying that all goes well.
Keep us informed when you can.

Love Ya
Mary Mc
