She's taking the bottle!

At 5:00pm today Maryam took the bottle for the first time since her surgery! They're starting her at 30 mils (one ounce) per feeding, every 3 hours. She's already had 4 bowel movements since last night, so, it looks like her stomach, and intestines are working like they should be!

Maryam took the entire ounce without fighting it at all. She took it right away and didn't stop until the bottle was empty. And I think she might have even wanted more!!! She started crying when the bottle was empty!! To those of you who have ever seen "the battle over the bottle!" you know this is a HUGE deal!!! To those of you who have not, trust me!!! SHE HATES TO EAT!!!! She didn't have any retching, which is a side effect of the fundoplication, and she burped out of her G-tube like she's supposed to!

This is nurse Jennifer Stewart! All the pretty blankets in her crib were made by Jennifer! The bottom sheet is pink with poodles on it, the blanket she's covered in is pink with white daiseys and she also made 2 other blankets too!!!!

Maryam's pretty pink crib bed!!!!

Thank you EVERYONE for your wonderful comments and emails!! We truly are blessed to have such a wonderful family and network of friends! Maryam's blog has been viewed by family and friends of family and friends ALL over the country. Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.
