We took Maryam to see Elmo on Tuesday. It was part of a USO show on the base. She LOVES Elmo, so it was sort of a no brainer to take her. As the characters on the stage sang and danced, Maryam did the same on my lap. She just started jumping up and down and pointing at the stage and saying her "ooh, ooh, oohs" that she does so well.
When the audiance clapped along with the music, Maryam tried to keep up.
My favorite part of the show was when Cookie Monster sang a song about shaking cookies in the cookie jar. In part of the song he sang, "shake, shake, shake...." Those are the words we use at home to get Maryam to dance...so when Cookie Monster started singing that song, she started boogying! At one point she was boogying so hard that she kept punching me in the face....at another point she was dancing with her hands resting behind her head. I've never seen her have such a good time. I'm so glad that we took her and I'm even happier that I got to see her so happy.

That is so cute! I can just see her boogying! McKenzie loves Elmo too - I would love to take her to a show - I think we are going to take her to Sesame Place in PA before we move, even though she may be a little young - I know she will love it! She doesn't say Elmo yet but just started singing "la la la la" when she sees him.
