On this day a year ago

I remember how nervous I was to hold Maryam. I was afraid I could break her, or pull an IV out, or her oxygen, or her OG tube.....
Brett too, he wanted to hold her, but he wanted so badly for me to as well, that he would sacrifice his time so that I could have more. Because if we held her too long and she was over stimulated she would desaturate and put her at risk of going back on the dreaded ventilator.
Maryam's first bath.
Maryam in her isolette. You can see her nose is all squished up from being on CPAP for so long, we thought for sure she'd need plastic surgery. Don't get me started on what her belly button use to look like!
