My apologies

It was brought to my attention that the "petri dish" description of children on the playground may have come off as offensive. Well, I in no way meant to offend anyone. That comment was not made about any particular child. This blog is supposed to be about Maryam and occasionally I put pictures or info about other children that play with her. I ALWAYS ask permission of their parents first.
When a friend of mine found out we had still been taking Maryam to the park she asked, "so, do you just wash her hands afterwards?" There is a reason she asked that, and its not because the playground equipment is dirty. Its because playground equipment has germs on it. Germs on the playground or out in public in general is the reason Maryam isn't even supposed to go out during the winter. But, like I said in last night's post, not being able to go out, makes us both a little stir crazy! So, I take the advice of Maryam's doctors and nurses and wash her hands really good after we leave. Usually when we get into the car I wipe her hands with anit-bacterial wipes or waterless anti-bacteria hand scrub. (I try not to use that very much because its high in alcohol content)
So again, I apologize if I offended anyone with the "petri dish" comment. I'll try to be more sensitive in the future.

You are more elequent than me. I call playgrounds cesspool, which actually is a place for sewage and refuse. I think your preemie mom friends would totally get it and not take offense.
