Day 2, LOOKING FANTASTIC!!!!

"Why are you taking my picture in this outfit? Its a hospital gown, its not pink, and not at all flattering! Are you kidding me with this?"

This is Maryam's new crib! She's the first baby in the nursery to use it. Isn't it cute? And for those of you who saw her old one, isn't
this one way better? The other one looked like a baby jail cell!

She wouldn't sleep in her bed, but she fell right to sleep once I got her in my arms. She's just so sweet!

We're happy to report that Maryam's second day back in the nursery went really well. She's still on pain meds, but she's already back to her old self. She's kicking up a storm! Unfortunately, she hasn't figured out that the more she kicks, the more her tummy hurts. Hopefully she'll put those two together sooner than later. She still has an IV in her right foot. That's how she's getting her nutrition until her stomach starts to work properly again. Tomorrow they're going to hang her G-tube and see how her stomach reacts to having the secretions put back into it. Then on Saturday they're going to try to give her clear liquids. If she's able to handle that, then they'll start her on formula. After that, they'll see how she reacts to having the tube closed off. If she can handle all of that, she can come home! Hooray!!! We did get some sad news today though. Dr. Braumberger informed us that once a person is exposed to a Staph infection they're more likely to get them again. She's been on antibiotics since before the surgery, so hopefully she doesn't get one, we REALLY want her back home!

Thank you again to all of you for the many well wishes and prayers. Maryam is on so many prayer lists and chains because of all of the family and friends that we have. We're very blessed to have all of you in our lives.

YEAH Maryam!
I knew you would make it through the surgery and you will make it through everything else you will go through in the future because you are a strong and beautiful baby girl
Although I'm not sure that Mommy & Daddy will. But you are starting out right by training them right away, which is good because they have a lot of years ahead of them where you will be testing them more, & more, & more! Especially those teen years!
Keep up the good work and you will all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Love Ya
